One Art by Elizabeth Bishop

The art of losing isn’t hard to master;
so many things seem filled with the intent
to be lost that their loss is no disaster.

Lose something everyday. Accept the fluster
of lost door keys, the hour badly spent.
The art of losing isn’t hard to master.

Then practice losing farther, losing faster:
places, and names, and where it was you meant
to travel. None of these things will bring disaster.

I lost my mother’s watch. And look! my last, or
next-to-last, of three loved houses went.
The art of losing isn’t hard to master.

I lost two cities, lovely ones. And, vaster,
some realms I owned, two rivers, a continent.
I miss them, but it wasn’t a disaster.

-Even losing you (the joking voice, a gesture
I love) I shan’t have lied. It’s evident
the art of losing’s not too hard to master
though it may look like (Write it!) like disaster.

I will love you Lord ALWAYS!!! FOR YOU ARE HOLY LORD!!! AND COS YOU ARE SO MUCH MOREEE!!!!

I will love you, Lord always

Not just for the things you done for me

I will praise you all my days

Not just for the change you've made in me.

But I'll praise you for you are Holy Lord

And I lift my hands but you are worthy of so much more

For You are awesome God of the Nations

Lion of Judah, Rock of the Ages

Alpha, Omega. Worthy of all praise

More than the hands I raise

I'll live a life of praise

I will serve You, Lord always

For You are my strength when I am weak

And I will never be afraid

For You are my rock and You protect me

But I'll praise You, for You are Hold Lord

And I'll lift my hand but You are worthy of so much more

For You are awesome God of the Nations

Lion of Judah, Rock of the Ages

Alpha, Omega. Worthy of all praise

More than the hands I raise

For You are awesome God of the Nations

Lion of Judah, Rock of the Ages

Alpha, Omega. Worthy of all praise

More than the hands I raise

You're worthy of all praise

More than these hands I raise

For You are awesome God of the Nations

Lion of Judah, Rock of the Ages

Alpha, Omega. Worthy of all praise

More than the hands I raise

You're worthy of my praise!

Amos 9 v 15

“I will plant my people on their land and they will not be pulled out again from the land which I have given them.” Says the Lord your God.

God loves you.

Romans 8 v 38 + 39

For I am certain that nothing can separate us from His love; neither death nor life, neither angels nor other heavenly rulers or powers, neither the present nor the future, neither the world above nor the world below – there is nothing in all creation that will ever be able to separate us from the love of God which is ours through Christ Jesus our Lord.

This is awesome!!!!!!

So this guy comes up to me and says, "What's the vision? What's the big idea?" I open my mouth and words come out like this...

The vision?
The vision is JESUS:
obsessively, dangerously, undeniably Jesus.

The vision is an army of young people.
You see bones?
I see an army.

And they are FREE from materialism -
they laugh at 9-5 little prisons.
They could eat caviar on Monday and crusts on Tuesday. They wouldn't even notice.
They know the meaning of the Matrix,
the way the West was won.

They are mobile like the wind,
they belong to the nations,
they need no passport.
People write their addresses in pencil and wonder at their strange existence.
They are free,
yet they are slaves
of the hurting and dirty and dying.

What is the vision? The vision is holiness that hurts the eyes.
It makes children laugh and adults angry.
It gave up the game of minimum integrity long ago to reach for the stars.
It scorns the good and strains for the best.
It is dangerously pure.

Light flickers
from every secret motive,
every private conversation.
It loves people away from their suicide leaps,
their Satan games.

This is an army
that will lay down its life for the cause.
A million times a day
its soldiers choose to loose that they might one day win the great "Well done" of faithful sons and daughters.

Such heroes are as radical on Monday morning as Sunday night.

They don't need fame from names.
Instead they grin quietly upwards
and hear the crowds chanting again and again:
"COME ON!"

And this is the sound of the underground,
the whisper of history in the making,
foundations shaking,
revolutionaries dreaming once again.
Mystery is scheming in whispers,
conspiracy is breathing...
This is the sound of the underground

And the army is discipl(in)ed -
young people who beat their bodies into submission.
Every soldier would take a bullet for his comrade at arms.
The tattoo on their back boasts
"For me to live is Christ and to die is gain."

Sacrifice fuels the fire
of victory in their upward eyes.
Winners.
Martyrs.
Who can stop them? Can hormones hold them back? Can failure succeed? Can fear scare them or death kill them?

And the generation prays
like a dying man with groans beyond talking,
with warrior cries, sulphuric tears and great barrow loads of laughter!

Waiting.
Watching:
24 - 7 - 365.

Whatever it takes they will give:
Breaking the rules,
shaking mediocrity from its cosy little hide,
laying down their rights and their precious little wrongs,
laughing at labels,
fasting essentials.
The advertisers cannot mold them.
Hollywood cannot hold them.
Peer-pressure is powerless
to shake their resolve
at late night parties
before the cockerel cries.

They are incredibly cool,
dangerously attractive inside.
On the outside? They hardly care!
They wear clothes like costumes: to communicate and celebrate,
but never to hide.

Would they surrender their image or their popularity? They would lay down their very lives, swap seats with the man on death row, guilty as hell:
a throne for an electric chair.

With blood and sweat and many tears,
with sleepless nights and fruitless days,
they pray as if it all depends on God
and live as if it all depends on them.

Their DNA chooses JESUS.
(He breathes out, they breathe in.)
Their subconscious sings.
They had a blood transfusion with Jesus.

Their words make demons scream in shopping centres.
Don't you hear them coming?

Herald the weirdos!
Summon the losers and the freaks.
Here come the frightened and forgotten
with fire in their eyes!
They walk tall and trees applaud,
skyscrapers bow,
mountains are dwarfed
by these children of another dimension.

Their prayers summon the Hound of Heaven and invoke the ancient dream of Eden.

And this vision will be.
It will come to pass;
it will come easily;
it will come soon.

How do I know?
Because this is the longing of creation itself,
the groaning of the Spirit,
the very dream of God.

My tomorrow is His today.
My distant hope is His 3-D.
And my feeble,
whispered,
faithless prayer
invokes a thunderous,
resounding,
bone-shaking
great "Amen!"
from countless angels,
from hero's of the faith,
from Christ himself.

And He is the original dreamer,
the ultimate winner.
Guaranteed.

Kids on the Old and New Testaments

This comes from a Catholic elementary school. Kids were asked questions about the Old and New Testaments. They have not been retouched or corrected (i.e., incorrect spelling has been left in.)... Enjoy!

* In the first book of the bible, Guinessis, God got tired of creating the
world, so he took the Sabbath off.

* Adam and Eve were created from an apple tree. Noah's wife was called
Joan of Ark. Noah built an ark, which the animals come on to in pears.

* Lot's wife was a pillar of salt by day, but a ball of fire by night.

* The Jews were a proud people and throughout history they had trouble with
the unsympathetic Genitals.

* Samson was a strongman who let himself be led astray by a Jezebel
like Delilah.

* Moses led the hebrews to the Red Sea, where they made unleavened bread
which is bread without any ingredients.

* The Egyptians were all drowned in the dessert. Afterwards, Moses
went up on Mount Cyanide to get the ten ammendments.

* The seventh commandment is thou shalt not admit adultery.

* Moses died before he ever reached Canada. Then Joshua led the
hebrews in the battle of Geritol.

* The greatest miracle in the Bible is when Joshua told his son to stand
still and he obeyed him.

* David was a hebrew king skilled at playing the liar. he fought with the
Finklesteins, a race of people who lived in Biblical times.

* Solomon, one of David's sons, had 300 wives and 700 porcupines.

* When Mary heard that she was the mother of Jesus, she sang the
Magna Carta.

* When the three wise guys from the east side arrived, they found Jesus in
the manager.

* Jesus was born because Mary had an immaculate contraption.

* Jesus enunciated the Golden Rule, which says to do one to others before
they do one to you. He also explained, "a man doth not live by sweat alone."

* It was a miracle when Jesus rose from the dead and managed to get the
tombstone off the entrance.

* The people who followed the lord were called the 12 decibels. The epistles
were the wives of the apostles.

* One of the oppossums was St. Matthew who was also a taximan.

* St. Paul cavorted to Christianity. He preached holy acrimony, which is
another name for marriage.

* Christians have only one spouse. This is called monotony.

When i say...

When I say "I'm a Christian", I'm not shouting I'm clean living.
I'm whispering I was lost, now I'm found and forgiven.

When I say "I'm a Christian", I dont speak of this with pride.
I'm confessing that I stumble and need Christ to be my guide.

When I say "I'm a Christian", I'm not trying to be strong.
I'm professing that I'm weak and need His strength to carry on.

When I say "I'm a Christian", I'm not bragging of success.
I'm admitting I have failed and need God to clean my mess.

When I say "I'm a Christian", I'm not claiming to be perfect.
My flaws are far too visible but, God believes I'm worth it.

When I say "I'm a Christian", I still feel the sting of his pain.
I have my share of heartaches so I call upon His name.

When I say "I'm a Christian", I'm not holier than thou.
I'm just a simple sinner who received God's good grace, somehow.

Katy Fitzgerald -It Doesn't Get Better Than This

I feel like I’m flyin’,
I wont touch the ground.
I spin it- sorry now
I turn it around
I turn it around
I turn it a-round!

It doesn’t get better than this
I’ve waited all my life
To just be like this
There is nothing that I wanna miss
Cuz it doesn’t get-
No it doesn’t get-
No it doesn’t get better than this..

Fall
Ooh this was worth it
As I landed with grace
And I, needed to find my way
To get to the place, to get to the place-
Now I can’t say!

It doesn’t get better than this
I’ve waited all my life
To just be like this!
There is nothing that I wanna miss
Cuz it doesn’t get-
No it doesn’t get-
No it doesn’t get better than.. this..

Better than thi-eh ya eh ya this!

Nothing’s free
Without the sorrow
You’re staying
Go tomorrow
Breaking down
Just Think about today!

I’ve waited all my life, to be-e yeah!
Better than this
It doesn’t get, no, no!
Better than this!
